My name is Elliot Scozzola, and I’m running for Campbell City Council,
District 4.
I’ve always taken great pride in this beautiful city ever since learning as a young child that my great grandfather had literally helped to build it. He, like many others during the Great Depression, had fled the American “Dust Bowl” with his family, and headed out West to California, in pursuit of new dreams. He used stone masonry skills that he had learned during his time in the Civil Works Administration program, to build his house as well as many buildings that still stand in Downtown Campbell today.
I often think about the people since then who have come to Campbell, to pursue their own dreams, all of them builders of this community in their own unique way. Some of which have had their voices heard loud and clear by our City Council, while others have been ignored. I vow to listen to ALL of the voices within our community, and to shine a spotlight on those that have been neglected for far too long.
It should go without saying at this point, that we are currently living through difficult and uncertain times. I am determined to work as hard as I can to ensure that we come out of this crisis stronger than ever before. I’m confident that one day, with your support, cities across the country will point to Campbell, as the shining example of how to truly have a representative democracy that leaves no one behind.
I welcome your input and ideas on possible solutions to the many problems that we face, and I hope that you can take the time to look over my own ideas. Contact me any time at elliotforcampbell@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you, and having your support.
As President Franklin Delano Roosevelt said, “People acting together as a group can accomplish things which no individual acting alone could ever hope to bring about.”
Yours in Restoring the Heart of Campbell,
Elliot Scozzola
